The problem is the owner does not know how to set it. Power Commander, makes an ECU that can be fiddled with. The owner can not fiddle with the factory ECU. The owner messes with the bike, and now it will not run properly. The factory sets it to what they think is best. New bikes come with a computer that controls things. It was more convenient in that location for down loading maps. The PCIII was located under the front fairing left side off from the panel.

For example I had a PCIII on a 2006 ZX14. Often the PC is isntalled close to the ECU, but not always. Most likely you want to remove it because you are having run issues and want to determine if the PC is the cause, or perhaps you are having the ECU reflashed and mapped in the reflash and don't feel you need the PC after that. If that is the case, I would reinstall it. Therefor removing the PC may cause run issues. As points out, there may be modifications to your bike, such as an aftermarket exhaust, and/or removal of the cat and that is the reason the previous owner installed the PC. Then you can remove the PC device from your bike. Unplug the PC lead from the ECU, unplug the ECU lead from the PC and then plug the ECU lead into the PC. If you have map specific questions you can try to contact the map “owner” through email using the links under “Submitted by”.The PC plugs into the ECU, find the PC, follow the leads to the ECU.
