People from all over the world love the Watts Towers, and the State and community intend to have them designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Watts Towers are a testament to perseverance, and one of Los Angeles’ best examples of outsider art. The Watts Towers turn 100 years old this year and visionary immigrant artist, Simon (Sabato) Rodia, intended for them to be viewed by train passengers. Our 15th District has the highest air pollution in the City-too much asphalt and very little green space for people to breathe.
